Nursing Careers

Thank you for your interest in the opportunities offered at Indiana Regional Medical Center (IRMC) for nursing students and graduates. We have prepared this informational resource to better acquaint you with our programs. All the forms to apply for the summer nurse extern program, the nursing scholarship program and a GN loan forgiveness program are included.

Nurse Externships

The nurse externship program consists of a 10-week paid work experience with an registered nurse preceptor. Nursing students must be entering their senior year of a bachelors of science in nursing program or the third semester of a dipolma or associate degree program to apply. The deadline to apply is March 15.

How to Apply:

Scholarships

IRMC is able to offer a limited number of junior and senior scholarships to nursing students. The scholarships cover up to $5000 dollars per year. For a one-year scholarship, the nursing student commits to 18 months of uninterrupted employment at IRMC, and for a two-year scholarship it is a thirty months commitment.

Loan Forgiveness

IRMC is able to offer a $2,000 loan forgiveness in exchange for an 18 month commitment to IRMC upon graduation.
