Adult Psychiatry

Opportunity to join an existing combined Neurology and Psychiatry practice, for primarily adult outpatient care, although other interests are welcome. Skilled nursing facility visits and some limited inpatient Geriatric Psychiatry and consultation coverage required, including up to 1 in 3 call (extremely rare to come in from home). The practice was founded by a recently deceased lead physician trained in both Psychiatry and Neurology, and now includes two other Psychiatrists, two Psychiatry PAs, a Psychologist, and two social worker/therapists practicing Adult, Child, & Adolescent, Addiction, and Forensic specialties, and covering inpatient care, inpatient consultations, outpatient clinic, and skilled nursing facilities. The practice is rounded out by three Neurologists, two with subspecialties in Behavioral Neurology, and Sleep. The entire practice is hospital-employed, and is located on the hospital campus. Must be BC/BE; can accept J-1 (Mental Health HPSA) and H-1B candidates (cap-exempt). Educational loan forgiveness, signing bonus, and relocation expenses available.

Child, Adolescent, & Adult Psychiatry

Family Medicine

Opportunitiy to join an existing private group of three who practice outpatient only FM (no OB) in Clymer, PA, a small town 11 miles northeast of Indiana, PA. Replacing a physician who relocated for family reasons, as well as for growth. AB/AT preferred, but will consider all candidates. Must be BC/BE; H-1B can be accepted (cap-exempt); J-1 not possible at this time. Hospital-employed for startup in the practice. Practice members value teamwork and collegiality. Internal Medicine (2017)

Opportunity to join an existing private practice of three physicians and two PAs who practice traditional inpatient and outpatient IM in Indiana, PA. The practice site is about one mile from the hospital, and is located in a new building belonging to the practice owner. The space was built for future growth, and the need for another physician is anticipated for 2017. AB/AT preferred, but will consider all candidates. Must be BC/BE; H-1B can be accepted (cap-exempt); J-1 not possible at this time. One in six on call. Hospital-employed for startup is possible; group prefers a forgivable guarantee from the hospital. Educational loan forgiveness, signing bonus, and relocation expenses available.

Obstetrics and Gynecology

Hospital-employed opportunity to join employed group of 4 others in separate offices with plans to combine. Recruiting in response to an expected retirement. Collegial call coverage and support available. The hospital has approximately 600 deliveries per year, and a public clinic separate from the practices. Coverage for the CRNP in this clinic rotates on a weekly basis. The C-section rate is approximately 22%, and there is an active and progressive L&D process improvement program. Other services include Level 1 Nursery, perinatal education program, Spirit of Women program, and a collaborative nursing staff. Pediatrics

Opportunity to join an existing private practice of 2 physicians and 3 PAs, to replace a physician who departed for family reasons. Mostly outpatient, but includes inpatient care, including a Level 1 nursery and dedicated inpatient unit at our community hospital. Two office sites. Volume is 25 – 30 outpatients/day. Call will be 1:6. No Pediatric subspecialties available locally; tertiary care readily available at UPMC Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Helicopter transport is based on the hospital campus. Pulmonary/Critical Care

Opportunity to join an existing solo hospital-employed Pulmonologist. Practice includes all areas of critical care, procedures, PFT lab, sleep, and outpatient office on campus. Need an interest in critical care for balance; ICU directorship available. 164-bed sole community provider hospital serving about 100,000 population; ten-bed multipurpose open ICU to be rebuilt as a new 12 – bed unit by early 2017; six-bed Sleep Lab. All subspecialties of Internal Medicine represented on staff; starting coronary intervention and hospitalist services in summer 2016; no open heart or trauma. Light 1:2 on-call. Urgent Care/Occupational Health

Physicians needed for full or part-time work; hospital-employed with full benefits package. Two Urgicare sites located in Indiana, PA and Blairsville, PA. Facilities are open twelve hours on weekdays and 8 hours on weekends. Must be BC/BE in FM, IM/Peds, or EM; H-1B can be accepted (cap-exempt); J-1 not possible at this time. Located 60 miles east of Pittsburgh, PA, this independent 164-bed acute care community hospital celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2014. Community Profile

Indiana is a borough, and the county seat of Indiana County, Pennsylvania, located just slightly more than one hour east of Pittsburgh. The County's population is approximately 89,000 and stable, with a concentration of about 23,000 permanent population in and around the borough limits. The economy in the area is driven primarily by services and farming, and the county proclaims itself the "Christmas Tree Capital of the World", shipping over one million trees annually.

Indiana was the birthplace and hometown of actor Jimmy Stewart (1908-1997), who was born there and lived at 104 North 7th Street. On May 20, 1983, Stewart was given a 75th birthday celebration by the town. A museum to his memory was opened on the third floor of the local public library, and a bronze statue of Stewart was erected in his honor at the county courthouse during his 75th birthday. The town annually holds a Jimmy Stewart film festival as part of the town's "It's a Wonderful Life" holiday celebration.

Indiana, Pennsylvania is a growing community with an active Chamber of Commerce, Visitors Bureau and Economic Development. Relocation to Indiana offers affordable living with very good schools and low taxes. Indiana County is home to Indiana University of Pennsylvania (or IUP), a public university founded in 1875. With over 15,000 students, it is the largest university in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. It offers over 100 undergraduate majors and is the only doctoral degree-granting institution in the system.

For public K-12 education, the Indiana Area School District supports four neighborhood elementary schools (Eisenhower Elementary, Horace Mann, East Pike, and Ben Franklin), a middle school and high school (Indiana Area Senior High School), which are accredited and recognized for quality. A Catholic affiliated Pre-K through grade 6 program is offered at the St. Bernard School, in addition to two K-12 Christian schools in the area.

There are a great many activities available for children and adults alike. The university brings a large variety of cultural events to the community, and these are increasing with the completion and opening of a new 5,000 seat arena within sight of the medical center.

Outdoor opportunities abound. Indiana County's parks and trails system is one of the best in Pennsylvania with over 64 miles of rails to trails. The county boasts 792 acres of lakes; 5,452 acres of parks; and 12 miles of single track mountain bike trails. Couple this amount of acreage with the varied skill level of terrain and you have a dynamite combination!

Many of the biking and hiking trails run along historic paths with interesting lessons to be learned. So don't think your nature walk or bike ride will go without any history lessons. It's an especially great way to incorporate educational opportunities having children realize that history is part of everything we do and live.

Indiana County hosts 31 Fairs and Festivals including the annual Indiana County Fair next to the hospital, Thunder Mountain Lenape Nation Native American Festival, Pick-A-Dilly Herb Faire and the Saltsburg Canal Days. These are just a few of an extensive celebration of ethnic, cultural and agricultural fairs and festivals.
