As families grow, interests change. Indiana Regional Medical Center recognizes that parents and children have unique needs at different times in life. We have many programs to expand everyone's knowledge and confidence. Whether you need more information about your infant, or your child wants to start babysitting as a teenager, we have a program for you!
New Baby Day Camp
This program is focused on expectant parents with young children. A fun, interactive morning at camp that will help siblings prepare for the arrival of a new baby. Quarterly on Saturdays, 10 to 11 a.m. Register online today.
Home Alone & In Control
This is a 3-hour program that teaches children between the ages of 9-12, with the help of parents, how to prepare for and manage themselves at home on their own. $20 per child.
ABC's of Babysitting
A class designed to teach students ages 11 and up a variety of skills for accepting babysitting jobs and providing child care. This 12-hour course is scheduled over two days in order to comprehensively prepare participants. The course includes information about growth and development for all stages (with appropriate games, books, toys, television programs and foods) and hands-on skills such as dressing, diapering and bottle-feeding. Safety is a key component of the program, as well as basic first aid. American Heart Association Infant/Child CPR is included along with measures to take to rescue a choking infant or child. $50 per child. Find a class today.
