The Intensive Care Unit provides care for patients who are in the diagnostic or treatment stages of life-threatening or potentially life-threatening illnesses or injuries. Patients with cardiac, medical or respiratory diseases and those who require surgical intervention or extensive monitoring are commonly treated in this unit.
Nurses provide emergency treatment for patients experiencing cardiac or respiratory arrest and offer emotional support for patients and their families.
